Obama to Private Sector: Hire Those Community College kids!

President Obama announced in his weekly address on June 11th a new program to add manufacturing jobs, saying “Government is not and should not be the main engine of job creation…But government can partner with the private sector to make sure that every worker has the necessary skills for the jobs they’re applying for.”

Obama went on to say that on Wednesday, the National Association of Manufacturers and several colleges and private sector corporations committed to a program that will “make it possible for 500,000 community college students to get a manufacturing credential that has the industry’s stamp of approval.”
